New Zealand Natural was first developed to cater for the creator’s wife who had an allergy to any artificial colourings or flavourings, New Zealand Natural contains only the finest and freshest ingredients the world has to offer. Our ice cream was first sold exclusively in a small ice creamery in Christchurch in the south island of New Zealand. In 1984, Rael Polivnick met the inventor of New Zealand Natural in a flight from Australia to New Zealand. And Rael seeing the potential, purchased the rights to open a New Zealand Natural store in Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach in 1985.

In 2005, Emerald Foods purchased New Zealand Natural from Polivnick. It is run by local entrepreneur Diane Foreman. Today, we are not only one of the leading ice cream brands in New Zealand and Australia, but also represented in many other countries around the world.

Our ice creams come in full-cream flavours while those worried about their waistline can opt for our LOW-FAT ice creams, 97% FAT-FREE frozen yoghurts or 99% FAT-FREE sorbets. With our selection, there is absolutely no reason not to indulge on some of that natural goodness.

Despite previously being under Australian ownership for almost 20 years, the ice cream has always been made in New Zealand. “Our ice cream has always been proudly made in New Zealand, using the freshest and purest cream and ingredients.” explains Shane Lamont, New Zealand Natural’s Managing Director. “It used to be produced in Christ church, but now it’s made at Emerald’s factory in East Tamaki.”
